  Before you can be officially admitted to a program of graduate study at Michigan State University, please make sure that all of the following items are submitted to the Department of French, Classics, and Italian.  We will then forward these items to the Office of Admissions.

One official record or certified copy of official record from each university attended, including courses completed, grades obtained and any degree certificates or diplomas  awarded.

A Statement of Purpose (usually one or two pages) stating why you are applying to graduate school and describing your plans for the future.

Language Proficiency Form (included with the packet of information you received).

Three letters of recommendation from college/university professors or from employers.  The individuals writing the letters should do so on stationery from the institutions they represent.  These letters should be sent directly to:
